Questions & Government Answers

1. Page 1 says installation will be done by others but the awarding contractor for the compressors needs to be on-site after installation for start-up. We include this in all our quotes. If you go to the link provided it says installation should be included. Can you please verify?

ANSWER: Installation will be conducted by Melvin Price Lock Personnel with the assistance of crane support by others. Installation will not be required by the Contractor.

Contractor is only required to procure, deliver and have manufacturer representative onsite for startup after installs. Upon scheduled installation of a compressor, the Government and the Contractor will coordinate so that the Contractor can have a manufacturer representative onsite for the initial startup.

2. I was there last summer and looked over this job and the compressors are under the dam inside. However, the spec's call out for outside protection of ice and snow. Can you please verify if outside protection is required?

ANSWER: Correct, compressors are inside the dam. The protection from the elements that is called out in Paragraph 4.0 under Section 1, is for delivery only. Paragraph 4.0 states that “Compressor(s) shall be delivered in an enclosure as a form of protection against inclement weather hazards such as snow, ice, and hail in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.” Prior to delivery, Contractor shall ensure that each compressor is encased in some sort of enclosure that is capable of protecting the compressor from any inclement weather hazard so that damage does not occur to compressor.

3. Up to four more units may be purchased for a total of 6. Should we price each or will 6 be purchased at one-time?

ANSWER: Please price each Item No separately. You can include your unit price per Item No, and the total for 2 on each Item No (0001, 0002 option, and 0003 option). The chart to fill out for this is on page 4 of the solicitation package posted to FBO.gov.
