Question #1. Need clarification on tree sizes.
The bid Schedule ( line items price) indicates 6' to 8' tall trees, witch would have a caliper from 1" to 1-1/4"., but Spec sec 5 "Tree Planting" 5.2, calls out for caliper to be 2" to 2-1/2" which be a 10' to 12' tall tree., but Spec section 5.3, states the truck sizes to be proportional to the height for each species.
What spec or guidelines do we use, because each of the above would change the cost per tree very much?
Answer #1: 6’ to 8’ tree
Question #2. Depending on the above answer, if the 6 to 8 foot tall trees are the guideline, and depending on what time of the year the task order is, is container grown tress acceptable or do they have to be ball and burlap?
Answer #2: All trees must be ball and burlap
