Question and Answers Solicitation Number: W912P9-16-Q-0061

13 April 2016 Supply and Delivery of 1" (inch) Minus Crushed Limestone

Aggregate

Question 1: Can Type 5 crushed stone be substituted for the specified material? Contract specifies that stone must conform with the 2011 Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, Division 1000, Section 1006 Aggregate for Surfacing.

Answer 1: No substitutes are allowed.

Reference: N/A

Question 2: Loading trucks is an imprecise process. If the total tonnage exceeds the quantities specified in the contract, is the Contractor compensated for the overage. Example - Contract specifies 2370 tons in CLIN 0001. If the final delivered tonnage is 2373 (+3 tons), is the contractor compensated for the 3 tons? Is there +/- built in?

Answer 2: The Government understands loading trucks is an imprecise process due to variation of material and loading method. Ultimately, the quantities delivered need to be as close to the stated total as possible and the Government will monitor the totals being delivered.

Variations in quantities will be compensated accordingly based on submitted unit price, as the quote schedule is paid on a per ton basis.
