About this file

This document is an Amendment (Amendment 0001) to a federal solicitation for a hopper dredge contract for the Mississippi River, Baton Rouge to Gulf Southwest Pass. The amendment modifies several key aspects of the original solicitation, including changes to bidding schedules, contract duration, and sea turtle protection requirements. The solicitation is divided into four lots with varying hopper dredge specifications: Lot One has a 34-inch pump diameter and 14,788 cubic yard capacity, Lot Two has a 38-inch pump diameter and 12,430 cubic yard capacity, Lot Three has a 33.5-inch pump diameter and 9,400 cubic yard capacity, and Lot Four has a 39.37-inch pump diameter and 8,300 cubic yard capacity.

Key changes include removing NMFS-Approved Protected Species Observers and inflow/overflow screens for the Calcasieu River Bar Channel, updating bidding schedules, modifying contract start dates to between February 1-28, 2026, and revising theoretical hopper dredge production rates. The bid submission deadline is set for July 10, 2025, at 10:30 AM CST, with bid opening at 11:00 AM CST. Bidders may submit electronically via email or physically to the New Orleans District Contracting Office. The solicitation is issued by the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District New Orleans, with a project magnitude estimated between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000.
