REQUEST FOR INFORMATION #1

QUESTION 1: This is the first time that cement and flay ash are not separate pay items. This means that we cannot be forced to switch to an all cement mix design now correct?

RESPONSE 1: The three potential cementitious materials are not listed as separate items in the bid sheet. This is to allow the Contractor to cast ACM squares with the most economical mix design to meet the contract requirements. The Government will not dictate which of the provided mix designs is used.

QUESTION 2: There is still a cement shortage, but things are getting better. All of the cement suppliers are telling me that they cannot guarantee all of the cement will be domestic. This has been waived in the past, and they asked if it could be again.

RESPONSE 2: All materials must comply with FAR 52.225-11 Buy American – Construction Materials Under Trade Agreements (NOV 2021). Please reference page L-120 of the solicitation for acceptable sources.
