NOTES:
1. Prospective offerors are encouraged to examine the vessel prior to proposal submission. Specific dates for examining the vessel will be scheduled by Mr. David Pickett, Marine Management Section, (504)862-2381.
Failure to examine the vessel before submitting a proposal will not be considered cause for a claim against the Government.
2. Award will be made as a whole to one offeror.
3. The offeror is required to offer on all line items. Failure to submit an offer on all line items shall result in a non-responsive offer, requiring rejection thereof. In the event that an offeror is willing to waive costs associated with an individual line item, he is required to insert descriptive words or abbreviations such as "no charge" or "N.C."
4. Offerors shall furnish unit prices for all line items. If the offeror fails to insert a unit price in the appropriate blank for the required items but does furnish an extended total or an estimated amount for such items, the Government will deem his unit price to be the quotient obtained by dividing the extended estimated amount for that line item by the quantity. IF THE
OFFEROR OMITS BOTH THE UNIT PRICE AND THE EXTENDED AMOUNT FOR ANY REQUIRED
ITEM, HIS OFFER WILL BE DECLARED NON-RESPONSIVE.

Measure the two existing shafts and the two spare shafts for straightness and out of roundness at the bearing journals and tapers. Measure the run out of the face and the pilot bore of the couplings on the spare shafts. Check the blue fit of the existing couplings and spare propellers on the spare shafts.
Remove the packing, disassemble, degrease, and clean and inspect both stuffing boxes. Inspect and pressure test the seal bladders in the stuffing boxes.
Furnish a condition report on the bearings, shafts, couplings and stuffing boxes to the COR within seven calendar days after the vessel is dry-docked.
Install the spare shafts and propellers and strap the propeller nuts to the shaft ends with stainless steel flat bar. Install new flax packing in the stuffing boxes and lubricate. Check the alignment of the shafting at the coupling after the vessel has been afloat for 12 hours with fuel and water tanks full.
