| Text2: The Shops Building (Bldg 817) at the New Orleans District requires the emergency repair of the 3-phase wiring after an electrical short occurred. |
| Text3: The requirement is repair the 3-phase wiring and other electrical problems that occurred due to the electrical short. The repairs are detailed in the Statement of Work (SOW). |
| Text4: Authority permitting other than full and open competition for procurement of these services is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(2) and FAR 6.302-2(a)(2), Unusual and Compelling Urgency, and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Soliciting from a single source for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. |
| Text5: The 3-phase wiring short resulted in loss of power to the working areas. An emergency repair was required to allow for continuous operations at the New Orleans District facility. The Contracting Officer provided a Notice To Proceed via email to initiate the repairs. |
| Text6: Surveys were conducted to find a local contractor that could complete the repair in a timely manner. Bluwater Electric was available and provided a quote that was determined to be reasonable by the customer. Bluwater Electric is current in SAM and listed in the SBA DSBS database as a small business. |
