No. RFP Section Question Response

Regarding Disposal Site

SF-11:

The area shown on the plans for the disposal site only allows for disposal in Area H, C and I, and the concern is regarding pulling a large scow at a safe distance behind a tugboat. The areas are small and at the edge of the 1000’ radius, the widest part only about 300’. Normal wind and wave conditions at SF-11 will make the small area more challenging than it already is.

The dredged material shall be disposed in sub-areas H, C and I of the Alcatraz Disposal Site SF-11. The contractor will need to use a scow that is appropriately sized for disposal in sub-areas H, C and I of the Alcatraz Disposal Site SF-11.

2 * A copy of the Water Quality Certification and the CZMA Consistency Notification is requested for review.

* Please specify the insurance requirements for this project.

* We also noticed that the small business size standard for NAICS 237990, Dredging is incorrect.

52.204-8 ANNUAL REPRESENTATIONS AND

QUESTIONS & RESPONSES

SOLICITATION NUMBER W912P719B0004

3 Page 1 of the SF 1442 states:

…The Option work consists of hauling and placing approximately 54,000 cubic yards of dredged material from Reaches 2A, 3B and 5A at a beneficial use upland site as cover instead of in-bay at SF-11.

Section 01 11 00 Summary of Work 1.1.1 states:

…If the option bid items are awarded, the contractor shall haul and place approximately 43,000 cubic yards at a permitted beneficial use upland site.

The Pricing Schedule supports the optional 43,000cy, but can you confirm the correct cubic yardage for the option items?

See Amendment 0001.

4 Amendment 0001 for the REDWOOD CITY

HARBOR CHANNEL MAINTENANCE

DREDGING PROJECT, Solicitation W912P7- 19-B-0004. On the amended Pricing Schedule, the text related to the Optional Items (10AA/AB

– 14 AA/AB) crosses out “cover” and instead just says “Contractor-furnished beneficial use upland site”. Because this same material can be aquatically disposed of at SF 11, please clarify that the material can be used as cover material at the approved beneficial use upland sites in the area, including Montezuma and Cullinan Ranch.

We just want confirmation that this material is not considered “non-cover”.

The dredged material from the optional bid items (10AA/AB, 11AA/AB, 12AA/AB, 13AA/AB/AC and 14AA/AB) is suitable for wetland cover where there is no decanting of the process water at the placement site.

5 In Amendment 0001 for W912P719B0004 , optional beneficial use upland material can be placed if process water is not decanted.

Can this material be placed at Cullinan Ranch if all process water is contained and no decanting occurs?

This material has been determined to be suitable for upland beneficial reuse with no decant of the process water.

It is the contractor's responsibility to verify if material is suitable for the contractor-furnished beneficial use upland site.
