MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
SUBJECT: Site Visit, Questions from Potential Offerors, and Responses
Site Visit Scheduled for Potential Offerors Please Contact James.P.Parizek@usace.army.mil if attending Monday, June 30th, 2025, 10:00 AM McLaurin Maintenance Building E. 89th Street & Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, IL 60617
Question Is there a cost estimate, budget or ballpark figure for the project listed?
Response While we do have an estimate for this acquisition, disclosure of that estimate, or any related budgetary information, is prohibited. Releasing this information is considered procurement-sensitive and could compromise the integrity of the competitive process.
mailto:James.P.Parizek@usace.army.mil
Is there an actual start date for the project?
Response As stated in the SOW (section 1.4), the project is to be completed within 180 days of the contract award and the onsite labor is expected to be no more than 30 days (section 1.9.4(c)). Given that this solicitation closes on July 3, we anticipate the contract award date will be in mid-July.
Is there an elevator available to bring up the furniture to the mezzanine level?
Response No, the building does not have an elevator. The drawings in the Scope of Work show a staircase and 6’ wide double swing gate to access the mezzanine level.
Can you provide the dimensions of the room where we are to install the furniture and flooring?
Response The mezzanine office space for furniture measures 175” x 225”
We are looking through the solicitation to the above referenced project (Notice ID:
W912P625QA005) and within the scope of work it references “existing outlets shall be relocated on the new wall panels”. There are other annotations explaining that the outlets shall be relocated on the wall in which panels are to go as well. However, on that wall, there are no outlets pictured. From which wall are the outlets to be relocated from and are there specific locations you would like the outlets to be installed? Just looking to have those identified (locations of where to be relocated to) to coordinate appropriately.
Response As shown on “Picture 1: Interior East Wall Receptacles” in the Scope of Work, the 2 electrical boxes at the top and bottom of the east wall may not need to be relocated. The intent is to maintain access to those boxes when the wall panels are installed. The locations of the existing outlets on the north, west, and south walls are sufficient to support the desk configuration.
