MMD Tree Removal Pre-Bid Questions

Q) Is it okay to have 2 personnel (minimum) on site assuming QA and SSHO are the same person- both people are CPR/1st Aid certified)?

A) Yes, so long as these roles are filled (one individual may fill multiple roles): Quality Assurance (QA), Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO), CPR/1st Aid (two individuals).”

Q) Is it okay to use mechanical equipment and mulch most debris rather than take it off-site?

A) The contractor may mulch woody debris and either transport the mulch off-site or otherwise integrate it into the forest floor such that a natural setting is maintained with no large logs, stumps, branches, mulch-piles etc protruding from the ground that would inhibit future mowing in the area via brush-hog.

Q) Are the marked trees in clusters or are they individually scattered in the areas?

A) The trees are a combination of both. Trees will be marked for removal by the Govt. The contractor may request incidental taking of adjacent tree(s) for convenience of access. If granted, the additional taking will not result in additional cost to the Govt. Otherwise, damage to adjacent trees must be avoided.

Q) Is the field behind the brush included in the 2 acres (Base Bid 2)?

A) The grassy field is not included. The contractor will remove approximately 2 full acres of brush roughly in the shape of the polygon included in the SOW. The Govt will mark limits of advance. The field may be used to access the brush areas but will otherwise remain undisturbed.

Q) Are there any bonds required for this contract?

A) No.
