About this file
This document is a set of questions and answers (Q&A) for a federal contract opportunity (Solicitation Number W912NW25Q0031) related to fuel tank inspection and certification at an Army depot. The Q&A covers 20 detailed inquiries about nineteen above-ground fuel storage tanks, including specifics about tank characteristics, inspection requirements, and documentation. Key details include that the tanks are primarily 500-gallon welded steel tanks manufactured by ConVault in 2012, with most being double-walled and some encased in 6-inch concrete vaults with polyethylene geo-membrane secondary containment.
The document indicates the tanks require recertification based on a historical Army audit, with the inspection scope focusing on continued use and meeting 40 CFR 112 Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plan requirements. Potential contractors are directed to email carlos.s.bernal.civ@army.mil for additional information, including requests for photos and tank details. The Q&A notes that while a site visit is not possible, dimensions and pictures should provide sufficient information for bidders. One tank (1260-TK-10) is currently empty and out of service, while the rest remain operational, and all tanks are constructed of carbon steel.
