About this file
This document contains questions from vendors and answers from the government regarding solicitation number W912NS23Q2021 for security caging at the 735th Quartermaster facility in De Soto, Missouri. The project involves installing a 12-foot tall security cage or fence made of 9 to 12 gauge steel wire woven into a 2 by 2 inch diamond or square mesh pattern. The existing 8-foot fence will be replaced rather than extended. The room where installation will occur will be cleared out and accessible via forklift. The installation is considered a supply purchase with incidental installation, so prevailing wage requirements do not apply.

Vendor Questions and Government Answers for RFQ W912NS23Q2021 (Amendment 1)
Question 1: Is this for woven wire mesh or chain link? Do you have a basis of spec for the mesh? Do you want diamond? 2" x 1" rectangle standard?
Answer 1: The basis of specification for the wire mesh is, “The Cage material shall be 9 – 12 gauge steel wire woven into 2 – 2 ½ inch diamond or square mesh with wire securely clinched to framing.” Woven wire mesh or chain link would both fulfill our requirements.
Question 2: My supplier cannot extend the existing cage up to ceiling; is it ok to quote replacement of that existing fence?
Answer 2: Yes, you can quote replacement of the existing 8 ft fence with a new 12 ft caging/fence, rather than extending the existing fence from 8 to 12 ft.
Question 3: Can you please confirm for the install parameters-- is this all first floor?
Answer 3: Yes, this project is in a first floor room.
Question 4: Is there a Loading dock on site?
Answer 4: There is no loading dock, but there is a forklift on site.
Question 5: Clear access/ will the room be cleared out?
Answer 5: Yes, the room will be cleared out prior to beginning of installation.
Question 6: Can you please confirm for the install parameters---Non-union?
Answer 6: The government considers this procurement to be a supply purchase, with installation incidental to the supply. Therefore, this procurement is not subject to the Service Contract Act-- Department of Labor Wage Determination.
