QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

W912MM21Q0031 / Building #802 / Theater AV Update Questions & Answers

Table Microphones:

• Is the total Table Mic count of (8) acceptable?

Eight (8) would be acceptable

• We currently have (3) wired table microphones on the first row of seating and (5) on the second row. To keep the channel count even on the under-table mic expansion boxes, would it be acceptable to make it (4) on each row?

Four (4) would be acceptable as long as they are position between the seats so two people can use them if needed.

Need to be centered on the rows.

• The existing table mics are a table “gooseneck” style, recently supplied by Haggerty’s. I’m happy with these Shure mic models if they are acceptable to you. Are the existing mics OK to re-use?

As long as they are functional and nothing is broke, loose, etc. they can be re-used.

Wireless Microphones:

• How many total wireless Mics do we need?

Four (4)

• The wireless mics can be Handheld, Lavaliere, Head-worn “over-the-ear” or Table “gooseneck”. What type(s) do we need?

Two (2) hand-held and Two (2) over-the-ear. We’ve had issues with the lapel ones not picking up sound if the speaker turns their head.

Ceiling Microphones:

• Do we want to use the (5) existing Shure “choir” style hanging mics or update to a new ceiling microphone(s)?

Update mics and lower (dropdown)

Cisco Video Conference Camera Connections:

• We will need PTZ Camera video & control connections for the new Cisco Room Kit Pro. Do we also want to be able to use the same cameras for the Room PC running Microsoft Teams, including full control of the camera PTZ and Preset Positions?

Yes if possible

• Do we want/need cameras with a higher zoom, 20x to 30x, to be able to frame speakers at the long distances required in this room?

Yes

Podium Room PC:

• Does MS Teams need a “Share” content input into the PC for routing the room’s A/V sources, Laptop, etc. to use in a conference?

Need to be able to share content from the room PC or external laptop

Podium Laptop Inputs

• What type of Laptop Inputs do we need? HDMI? DisplayPort? VGA & Audio for older analog laptops?

HDMI and Display Port, Thunderbolt. No need for older technology displays

• Do we want/need a wired Network jack for a presenter Laptop or is this wireless now?

A wired jack would be nice so we have the ability to make it commercial or NIPR depending on the presenter.

Podium Monitor:

• We’ll need a Monitor on the Podium with an HDMI Input. Is the current one going to stay?

Yes

Side TV’s

• The existing Sharp LC-60LE820UN models are a 60” TV.

Do you have a preferred size in mind? Maybe a 75” or 85” in a commercial series for a room this large?

75 or 85 depending on your thoughts for a room that size

Camp Rapid Cable TV:

• There is an existing Contemporary Research TV Tuner in the Lectern for standard cable TV Channels. Is this still active and/or needed?

We will need to integrate our current solution of TV over IP. We use a ZeeVee convertor that we will provide.

Lighting Control Integration:

• Do we want to integrate lighting control of the existing Lutron Grafik Eye?

Personally, I think the existing wall keypads are confusing to run without button labels and buttons that have no functions. We can build a very user-friendly interface on the Touch-panel with full control of the Lutron by adding a Lutron QSE-CI-NWK-E RS-232 Interface to communicate.

Great idea! I like that option

Sony Blu-ray / DVD Player:

• The existing 2011 model BDP-S580 cannot play 4K UHD discs. The downside of keeping the original 2011 out-of-warranty player is if someone brings a 4K disc, they may be confused why it won’t play. Do we want to upgrade or re-use the 2011 model?

New model; these are used pretty often. The SOO will be changed to reflect new player requirement.
