15 May 2019

Q1. Does the existing joint material that spilled outside of the joint need to be removed.

A1. Yes.

Q2. Will low profile (airport project style) barricades be required?

A2. No. A free zone letter will be accomplished prior to construction so the area adjacent to Building 40 will be removed from the controlled area. The contractor will be required to provide adequate barricades and traffic control to protect their site during all phases of construction.

Q3. What is the maximum size for a Type A Spall?

A3. The note on the detail reads “The maximum size is 1.0 sq ft with one dimension being at least 6 inches.”

Q4. Do the joints need to be repaired at the exterior limits of the drawing?

A4. Yes. The limits of concrete joint repair on the drawings included the joints on the limits line. Please note that the estimate of quantities on the drawings included the exterior limits.
