Answer: No, site visit was not required.
2. The RFQ lists the job completion date as May 18, 2024, on page 17, item number 3. Do you have updated date? Answer: Bid due date will be updated.
3. Could you specify how many channels each TFOCA connector needs to support?
A: There is 4 strands per TFOCA. There will be 2 TFOCA connects at each ped.
4. Statement of work references Clearfield vault and cabinets. Is there a specification on these that you can provide. Clearfield has a bunch of options and this will be needed to secure proper pricing. A: The size of the Clearfield vault and cabinet is 36hx18wx17d. It’s a single door cabinet, with a 72 strand bulkhead in it. The spice for the fiber will be done into a closure (coyote or what ever) in the bottom of the vault. You will bring 12 strands up to the bulkhead, terminated.
5. Do you have a specification on the single mode fiber cable. IE: Manufacture and or part number. A: It’s a 72 strand SM fiber cable, that has a sheath in it for grounding purpose.
We use corning.
6. Is this project prevailing wage? No, this is a supply contract with installation of cable.
7. Will permitting for digging be required and will private locates be needed?
A: We have permission for the digging. You are responsible for your own locates.
8. Will there be specific days and times of the week that work can be performed.
A: Work can be performed 7 days a week as long as it doesn’t interfere with training.
9. Is there a staging area for the crews to utilize during the construction period.
A: Yes, that will be directed by Range Control.
10. Is there a specific OTDR testing equipment requirement and any specific format for
OTDR test reports.
A: You can provide the report on the Asbuilt or send it to us through E‐Mail. The OTDR should show us the total route of every connection and the DB loss, etc.
11. Do all spare fibers terminated for future use? A: In the first Pedestal going east, the splice will be done in this Ped. You will only be splicing the 12 strands that goes west, which will be the white tube (60‐ 72). Also, in this Ped. you will be splicing the blue tube (1‐12) to the bulkhead. The orange tube (13‐24) will be spiced to the second ped. going east. The green tube (25‐36) will be splice into the third ped. going east. The brown tube (37‐48) will be splice into the fourth ped. going east. The slate tube (49‐60) will be in the fourth ped. not spliced for future Ped.
