RFP Reference (Sect/Para/Page) QUESTION GOVERNMENT RESPONSE
12/18/2017 1
Please clarify that the emergency evacuation system must to meet the criteria for ADA for each the restrooms in the facility? In reviewing the SOW and the design Layout there are devices required in the hallways near the sleeping areas. Per Fire code when installing a fire alarm system, notification is required in each sleeping area. We understand there is a FA system in place which covers this requirement for Fire. Since this requirement is a completely standalone Alert system for alerting the fire station personnel. We recommend considering similar requirements of sound and Visual Aids in each of these sleeping areas verses the current layout just in the hallways.
1. Restrooms must include audible/visual alert tones per NFPA.
2. Sleeping areas, hallways and common areas must include audible/visual alert tones per NFPA.
Map of suggested locations for alert tones can be used as a reference, but NFPA and UFC will dictate location requirements.
Location changes for audible/visual alert tones must be approved by Civil Engineering.
**Follow NFPA and UFC requirements for all aspects of this project**
