_7_ PROVIDE A STATEMENT OF ACT_dWWFyKo3zgQ-e71MSrA2mA: Contracting Office has put already submitted a 'Source Sought' request in FBO to determine adequate competition for future services. Due to the immediate need of this purchase there is not adequate time to obtain quotes from the sources received, but those sources will be reviewed for future procurements.
_5_ PROVIDE A STATEMENT OF ACT_xMsHeIbKfGYdZx*NQZBzkg: Market research performed for previous purchases in 2017 indicated few acceptable vendors. Due to the emergent nature of this purchase, we are using a vendor that had previously demonstrated capabilities of working on this type of hanger door.
_4_ UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS THA_fxPS18NzthbsRqqrY5h47Q: The Contractor must have in the past been engaged in aircraft hangar repair activities to include hangar door structures along with all associated mechanical, electrical, structural, and safety components necessary to safely operate a hangar door for a minimum of five (5) years. To complete a project of this nature during the contract period, it is essential that the Contractor possesses the necessary background, supervision, and qualified personnel. Titan Specialty Doors expertise include: Unique Hangar Doors and Door Repair and Restoration, Custom Blast Doors, RF and Radiation Shielded Doors, Large Acoustic Doors, and Air Plenum Doors. Current and completed Titan projects have included completion of the requirements listen to include: Air Plenum door repair/refurbishment for the Hawaii ANG, RF shielded door repair/refurbishment for Lockheed Martin, new bi-parting RF swing doors for the US Army at Redstone Arsenal, new blast doors for the New Jersey ANG, new blast doors for the USAF at Mountain Home AFB, ID, new sliding concrete acoustic doors for Google Spruce Goose Studios in Playa Vista, CA, repairs and preventative maintenance of a large Anechoic Chamber Swing Door at Aberdeen Proving Ground, and a new replacement hangar door for the KC46A program at McGuire AFB. Expedited repair of the hangar is required due to the fact that, 1. The 108th Wing maintains a 24/7 – 365 Day alert mission. The alert aircraft response time is extremely short, necessitating the need to quickly move the plane out of the hangar. As it stands now, the door drive gears have to be disengaged and a tow vehicle must be used to pull open and push close the doors. This process not only takes additional time to complete, but also increases the chances to damage equipment or injure personnel. Access to the hangar to complete vital aircraft maintenance is critical to maintain mission readiness. 2. Hangar 33-36 is the only approved structure to complete in-tank fuel systems maintenance. The KC-135R model tanker’s primary mission is to conduct aerial refueling missions vital to our national defense. Without access to hanger 33-36, the 108 Wing’s ability to meet Higher Headquarters tasked missions would be severely impacted.
_3_ BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SUPPL_UM33PhqLHArLIQSUjN*Zfw: PROJECT OVERVIEW: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electronic failure of aircraft hangar door located in building 3336 due to an apparent malfunction with the safety guard mechanism, resulting in electronic failure, power loss, and electronic control. Perform preventative maintenance on hangar doors located in building 3333 and 3336.
