Questions and Answers
NO. 3
1. A concern arises that the number of maintenance employees at each facility was not provided so we are unable to ensure that 50% of maintenance employees can be monitored for noise dosimetry in the allotted sampling day as stated in section 2.1.4.2 that states “Perform dosimetry on a minimum of 50% of all maintenance employees.
Provide an explanation in the report if this cannot be accomplished.”
a. Is there any location that list how many workers are located at each facility or are we to bid on facility type/sq footage alone?
Answer: The facility information sheets has been re‐uploaded to the PR tracker with the number of personnel in each facility (broken out by maintenance and admin personnel).
2. I wanted to ensure our price quotes were correct in the assumption that we are providing a price for one full day of analysis at each facility as stated in section 1.3.2 which states "Price will include all cost factors to complete the surveys inclusive of travel cost to spend one full day at each facility. Price will not include costs for media and laboratory analyses." for a two person sampling team as stated in the sampling plan attached as attachment 9.
Answer: The cost of media, lab analysis, shipping and equipment will be paid by the regional office and are not part of the budget submissions for these survey contracts.
The winning bidder will request equipment and media from the NGB Regional IH Office, who will send the requested supplies to the contractor. FedEx labels will be included to return the equipment and send the media to the lab.
3. As for the 50% requirement for noise dosimetry, this is based on the personnel present the day of the survey. The contractor cannot control who is present for work on any given day. This can be explained in the report. Historically, we've seen good results with effective pre‐coordination to ensure the shop personnel know what is going on and are present for the survey.
Answers: Please provide in your quote whatever personnel costs you would require to enact your sampling plan.
