These new work elements need to be successfully completed, to facilitate the proper installation of the Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EFIS) which was contracted in the original order. The work required by the follow on task order is to be accomplished concurrently with the current task order. The new wok includes the construction of an entirely new substrate for the EFIS product to be constructed onto. A single contractor and labor force performing both projects, ensures proper coordination of work and a reduction in labor and equipment costs. In addition, the current general contractor is already onsite which reduces mobilization charges, as the same equipment will be utilized for both projects. Concurrent work under a follow-on task order also mitigates potential delay costs associated with the original task order.
