About this file
This document is a detailed Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Handheld X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) spectrometric device. The device must be field-portable, weigh 3 lbs or less, and capable of measuring elemental concentrations in soils and sediment deposits, with specific requirements including a Gold anode X-ray tube, Silicon Drift Detector, and the ability to detect a comprehensive range of elements from alkali metals to lanthanides. The XRF must have an Android-based operating system, integrated cameras, touch screen, wireless data transfer, GPS capabilities, and operate between 10°F to 130°F.
The procurement includes multiple accessories such as a battery charger, carrying case, detection standards library, laboratory and field test stands, and on-site training. Delivery is to the GSL-Airfields and Pavements Branch at CEERD-GMA in Vicksburg, MS, with a delivery deadline of March 16, 2026. Vendors must submit additional technical documentation, including manufacturer letters confirming product specifications and support capabilities. Shipping costs must be included in the quote, and the solicitation emphasizes the need for comprehensive technical support and product verification.
