Question & Answer Concrete Curing Oven for ERDC GSL

Question 1: The solicitation requires the vendor to install the required gas line to building. However no details were provided about the building and how far away the gas connection is. Are you able to provide site drawings to call out the gas tie-in location and route to new oven location?

Answer 1: ERDC will be responsible for ensuring that the gas line is prepared for oven installation. If awarded, ERDC will ensure that the building is prepared for oven installation.

Question 2: It also states the vendor is responsible for installing a new concrete pad. If the oven is

OK to sit on existing concrete, is this required? Most of our ovens do not require any new foundations. We would just need to know details of existing concrete floor. Are you able to provide details?

Answer 2: The DOR did not state that a new concrete pad is required. The DOR indicated that the oven will need to be able to be loaded with up to 30,000-lbs of material. The existing building foundation is able to support the load.

Answer 3: ERDC is responsible for exhaust ventilation. If awarded, ERDC will ensure that the building is able to meet the requirements of the oven in terms of exhaust requirements.

Question 4: What is the due date for bids?

Answer 4: Bids are due by 1:00pm CST, Thursday 25 April 2024

Question 5: Do you have a list of approved contractors who work on base that can quote the concrete, gas line and exhaust ductwork?
