Question 1: Is it possible to post a picture of the framed award so we can see the frame? A description of a frame without color and width, just ‘decorative trim, antiqued, beading’ could be anything and I assuming they would like something similar to what they have been receiving in the past. Walnut, cherry, black etc. and antiqued with what? Gold, copper, silver wash? Where is the ‘decorative trim’, on the outer edge or does that refer to beading?
Answer 1: Please review attachment A - Description of the Requirement for ERDC Awards Framing.pdf on the solicitation page.
Question 2: Who supplies the award certificate? Would you email digital files that we then print or do you send hard copies?
Answer 2: The award certificates are Army Forms that the government will supply in hard copy form for each framing action.
Question 3: For the “occasional 2-day turn”, we can handle that but there is transit time that may affect it. I want to bid the two sizes of product with FOB destination but overnighting is a substantial additional cost. Can that be factored in to the BPA for those occasional rush orders, as say, an extra condition that could be billed for as a separate line item?
Answer 3: All costs (Materials, supplies, services, and shipping) shall be included in the per unit cost. It is estimated that in years past there have been no more than 5 units per year that have required shipment within a 5 working day or less period.
Question 4: What are the dimension of the awards themselves that fit into 14x18 and 14x28 frames? There are tolerances in mat cutting equipment and I have to determine how close those 4 square cut outs are located in the mats.
Answer 4: The Army Award Certificates are 10 inches in length and 8 inches in height.
