About this file

This document is a Sole Source Justification for the award of a firm-fixed price contract to Carahsoft Technology Group for access to Mapbox Software as a Service (SaaS). The USACE Institute for Water Resources (IWR) requires Mapbox API tiles for use by the Civil Works Business Intelligence (CWBI) program and supported modules. The total estimated contract value, including all options, is $xx,xxx.xx. The Period of Performance (PoP) includes a base period of one-year, with options for up to three (3) additional years.

Mapbox is the creator of the SaaS and is the sole provider distributed to the federal government through Carahsoft Technology Group. Mapbox provides background maps, satellite imagery, physical maps, and boundary maps for a variety of mapping applications, and can handle over 2,400 geocode requests per minute and support over 5,000,000 map views per month. The USACE has determined that Carahsoft Technology Group is the only vendor authorized to provide Mapbox SaaS to the federal government, and a notice of intent to sole source will be posted to SAM.gov inviting interested sources to submit capability statements. The anticipated price is deemed fair and reasonable based on previous purchases.
