PURCHASE DESCRIPTION

Vacuum Interrupter Test Sets

Background:

The United States Army Prime Power School (USAPPS) trains U.S. Army and Navy personnel on the proper maintenance testing of vacuum bottles circuit interrupters. Technology has changed to incorporate predictive maintenance to evaluate the condition of contacts and travel time for closing and bounce of electrical vacuum bottles, and switchgear, these maintenance requirements are current industry standards and the electrical training section has identified the testing sets to meet the required safety and maintenance standards.

Scope:

USAPPS has a requirement for three (3) vacuum interrupter test sets with travel time measuring devices to replace (end of life cycle) the go/no go test sets currently being taught. USAPPS is tasked to provide industry standard training to students due to the hazards associated with medium voltage power generation and distribution. This requires the school to continuously evaluate the curriculum for relevance and the best product available to accomplish this objective.

The Magnetron Atmospheric Condition (MAC) vacuum interrupter test set and circuit breaker timer interface unit meets the desired training level and projected training level of the ALC course for 12P3 MOS (students), and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requirements for each 12PS3 soldier to understand not just the testing procedures but also the predictive life cycle of the contacts expected life cycle and the ability to adjust the travel times to ensure the longest life cycle for each vacuum bottle.

Deliverables and Technical Specifications:
