QUESTION #2:
Technical question Solicitation W912HN09T0094 1 Stop Log- Kerr Scott Reservoir
"On Drawing 5666-M15 there is roller Bearings as well as Bearing covers and seal housings called out. We were able to find bearings that were equivalent with exception to the case being steel not bronze or brass. Would this be okay or do you know where we can get them with bronze or brass cases. Both the bearing covers and seal housings are no longer available. If we were to machine this out of block it would be terribly expensive. How would you like us to quote these items?
ANSWER #2:
I assume that the contractor meant "cage" not case. SKF can provide the bearing with a brass cage. However, steel is acceptable. The drawing calls for the housing and cover to be cast steel not machined.
