Excavated material, if satisfactory for reuse per the geotechnical report, may be used on the project site where fill is required. Unsatisfactory material, and surplus excavated material not required for fill, shall be disposed of offsite, and shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. Borrow material may be required for construction from sources off site. Borrow materials are to be free of hazardous materials and contaminants. Any soil brought in from off-site sources needs to be certified clean, or tested by the Contractor’s geotechnical engineer, prior to use for adverse contaminants above regulatory criteria.
