About this file
This document is an amendment to Solicitation W912ES24Q0136, which is for the procurement of a Quantitative Respirator Fit Testing Machine for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District.
The amendment provides an answer to an industry question regarding the specific respirator models to be tested. The agency confirms that the half-face masks are primarily 3M 6000 and 7000 series, and the full-face SCBA respirators do not require a specific adapter. The overall requirement is for a new, calibrated machine that meets OSHA's Condensation Nuclei Counter (CNC) Quantitative Fit Testing protocols. The solicitation closing date is September 17, 2024.

ANSWER TO INDUSTRY QUESTION
Question:
The solicitation indicates that the full- and half-face respirators to be tested are 3M series, but there is no specific Brand and model given for the SCBA facepiece to be tested.
Each SCBA (and respirator) manufacturer has a unique design for the supplied air or filter attachment fitting, and so it is impossible to quote the proper sample adapter without knowing the make and model to be fit tested.
Can you please supply the brand name and exact model of the SCBA facepiece to be fit tested.
Answer:
The half-face masks are primarily 3M 6000 and 7000 series.
The Quantitative Respirator Fit Testing Machine just needs to have the ability for testing Full-Face SCBA.
The adapter is not required at this time for the full-face SCBA respirators.
