About this file
This modification amends a solicitation for the rental of a 45 CFM dust collector to be used by the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District St Paul. The dust collector will be used to collect dust from concrete sawing and will require multiple 16-inch inlet connections as well as manufacturer-approved lifting points for moving with a crane. It will need to maintain performance over 600 feet of duct hose, which can be supplied in approximately 25-foot sections with couplings. The primary filter area is specified as 18,000 square feet for the 40,000 CFM capacity machine.

SUMMARY OF CHANGES
SECTION SF 1449 - CONTINUATION SHEET
The following have been added by full text:
QUESTIONS FROM INDUSTRY
1. What is the actual material that the dust collector will be expected to extract?
a. It will be used to collect dust from concrete sawing.
2. The primary filter area is defined as 18,000 sq. ft. which is unusual for a reverse pulse machine with a 40,000 cfm capacity. Are these specifications correct?
a. Yes.
3. The 16” inlet size is also unusual for a machine with 40,000 cfm as duct sizes are usually larger especially with long duct hose installations. Can an adapter at the end of hose be utilized?
a. 16” is preferred due to having hose left from previous use.
4. The consumables indicate 600 feet of 16” inch heavy duty duct hose. 600’ is a considerable distance for a small duct hose with the expectations of the machine maintaining an acceptable pressure drop and performance. A better understanding of the application is desirable. Are you able to supply any application information?
a. It won’t be one single run of 600’. The hoses get damaged from moving them around.
5. Are multiple duct hose attachment points on the machine required?
a. Yes, multiple inlets will be used.
6. The consumables indicate 600 feet of 16” inch heavy duty duct hose. The common lengths are ~25’ sections. Is this acceptable?
a. Yes, would just need to include some couplings to couple hoses together.
7. Are the manufacture approved pick points need as stated in the SOW?
a. Yes they are needed as this machine will need to be picked up and moved around by a crane.
