W912EQ20T0026 Additional Questions and Answers
1. If we are to unload and provide the unloading equipment (as answered in listing), Is there any shelter there for a forklift to be offloaded and parked under as opposed to being set out in weather?
There is shelter for forklift.
2. Is there ANY personnel on site on daily basis/ all day??? Anyone to direct where to unload and stack? Would the contractor be responsible for equipment on ground and offloading of trucks?
There will be government personnel on site to direct offload and stacking.
3. Per manufacturing, “borate treated ties are NOT covered following treatment. Industry standard has not required this for many years”. This is exception to c005d in your specifications. I have spoken with another manufacturer and am running into the same. Would this make our quote technically unacceptable?
No, that is fine, thank you for the clarification.
4. How many trucks/units per delivery? What is estimated delivery schedule?
Delivery needs to be October 2020 - March 2021. Object of delivery schedule is not to be delivering when contractor is casting, which usually begins in April.
5. Can my equipment (Loader) be left on site?
Yes, at your own risk. Gates but no onsite security.
6. What is the inspection process? Will ties have to be un-banded for inspection?
No, they will be inspected in banding.
7. Will ties need to be re-banded if broken?
Yes, need to be stacked in bands.
8. What type of offloading site conditions? Dirt, concrete, etc?
Consolidated Gravel. It is a concrete casting yard, so concrete treated base.
