About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a federal solicitation for four 50-ton mobile lift cranes. The cranes must have driven by wire capability, fail safe braking mechanisms, and be able to operate in all local weather conditions. Key specifications include a spreader attachment that can clear stacked concrete mats approximately 40,000 pounds and measuring 4 feet by 25 feet. The cranes will pick up precast stacks at a plant and deliver them to a casting yard in rows by casting date. Dimensions such as a preferred crane width of 32 feet and hook height of 20 feet are requested. The cranes will be shipped to and erected at a location in Drummonds, Tennessee by the bidder. While staggered shipping is acceptable, all four cranes must be on-site and operational by the preferred delivery date of before April 2021.

Approx. 40,000 lb

4. Width & Length of the precast load?

Approx 4’ x 25’,

5. Height of the precast mattress stack?

39-42”

6. Can you please provide a brief description of the operation sequence?

Drummonds, TN is the location

10. Delivery Date: A date of March 17, 2021 is also shown on Page 10, is this the expected date all four cranes would need to be on site and operational? Also, since each unit will be assembled and erected individually, will staggered shipments be acceptable as long as all four units are on site and operational by this delivery date?

Preferred delivery is before April 2021. Anything after the contractor will be on site and possibly casting. (Goes for rail ties too.)
