SECTION C-2
DEFINITIONS AND ACRONYMS
C.2.1 CONTRACTING OFFICER REPRESENTATIVE (COR). Individual designated and authorized, in writing, by the Contracting Officer to perform specific technical and/or administrative functions regarding the contract. This individual may be designated to perform quality assurance functions, including inspections, for a contracted service. The COR is not authorized to make any changes to the contract. The Contracting Officer and their designated representatives are responsible for ensuring performance of all necessary actions for effective contract administration, ensuring compliance with contract terms, and safeguarding the interests of the United States in its contractual relationships.
C.2.2 CONTRACTOR. The company structure, including all partners, officers, and employees with interest in this contract.
C.2.3 DEFECT. A task that does not meet the standard of performance specified in the contract for that service.
C.2.4 PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (PWS). Like a Scope of Work, this document sets forth required duties of the Contractor. It is called a “Performance” Work Statement as satisfaction with services is measured by end results of performance, rather than methods of performance.
For example, a PWS might state “the floors should be clean after performance of services” rather than stating “the floors should be swept and mopped”.
C.2.5 QUALITY CONTROL (QC). A method used by the Contractor to control the quality of services provided. Quality Control refers to actions by the Contractor. Contractor shall furnish a Quality Control Plan to the Government.
