Spec Section 35 01 41, paragraph 1.3 calls for the qualifications of the firm performing the gear reducer repair be a member of AGMA and must have been engaged in this line of work for at least 10 years. In Option B, Repair Duct Bank, the plans show depth demo of concrete 78" from existing top of existing lock wall.
After concrete removal, there is a good chance that the retaining wall foundation will be undermined during the process. Is the replacement of the retaining wall required when repairing the duct back? There is a good possibility that the contractor will need to excavate behind the retaining wall in the parking lot to allow us to make the bottom cut for the concrete removal. Is excavation behind the retaining wall allowable? Is excavating under the existing retaining wall will the retaining wall need to be replaced?
