The contractor is to provide the government the timeframe in which the fabricated structures are estimated to be fifty (50) percent complete for the fabrication inspection, and the estimated timeframe in which the fabricated structures are completed for the pre-galvanizing inspection. The pre-galvanizing inspection can coincide with the shop control dimension verification inspection as stated in specification section 5.1.3. The contractor is to provide weekly updates to this schedule.
The contractor shall allow government personnel access to conduct quality assurance inspections at any time.
When doubt exists as to the soundness of any material part; such part may be subjected to any form of nondestructive testing that will thoroughly investigate the part in question as determined by the Government. Any defects may be cause for rejection and rejected parts are required to be replaced and retested at the Contractor's expense.
When the soundness of any weld is suspected of being deficient, due to faulty welding or stresses that might occur during shipment or erection, the Government reserves the right to perform nondestructive supplemental examinations before final acceptance. The cost of such inspection will be borne by the Government if welds pass the nondestructive inspections. If welds are found to be defective, Contractor must repair the defective work. Retest repaired defective work by the same test method that located the defect and recoat that area meeting all requirements set forth in specification section 3.2.
