QUESTION AND ANWERS

Questions and Answers

Q-1. You specify that the inspectors need to be certified NCCO inspectors. Why is this? We are certified by Federal OSHA to inspect all cranes and have been inspecting for other Army Corp of Engineers sites for many years. It is much harder to become OSHA certified than NCCO certified. Can that requirement be changed?

A-1. Performance Work Statement are now updated to clarify the certification as OSHA certification not NCCCO certification.

Q-2. Also you specify that the inspectors also are required to lubricate and make certain other adjustments. Why is that? We, or any other inspectors would then be put in the awkward and not wise position of inspecting and certifying our own work.

A-2. Performance Work Statement are now updated to clarify the lubrication and adjustments is not a requirement.

Should there need to be an adjustment or part needing to be "greased" etc. the inspector can tell the crane operator, who will see that "on the spot maintenance" is performed to facilitate the inspection process.
