About this file
This document is a detailed technical specification for various types of work benches for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering and Support Center in Huntsville, AL. The solicitation includes 22 distinct work bench configurations (WB-1 through WB-34 and FM-2/FM-2A), ranging from 48" to 96" widths, with heights adjustable between 30-36.5 inches. The specifications cover multiple work bench types, including metal/wood configurations and metal/epoxy resin models, with specific requirements for worksurface materials, load capacities (1000-1200 lbs), caster types, electrical configurations, and finish options.
Key technical requirements include butcher block or epoxy resin worksurfaces, tubular steel frames, horizontal stretchers, leveling casters, electrical outlets, cable management capabilities, and compatibility with mobile file pedestals (FM-2/FM-2A). The solicitation is a pre-solicitation (Sources Sought) seeking to determine GSA Schedule availability, manufacturing locations, and lead times for these specialized technical work benches. The work benches are designed for technical environments, with some models specifically engineered to withstand chemical exposure in circuit board production, featuring resistance to chemicals like etching acids, copper sulfate, and various epoxies.
