QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
1. Is this project Tax exempt or will the Government issue a tax-exempt certificate?
ANSWER: This project is for the Federal government and will be tax exempt. Final invoice shall not include taxes.
2. What is the size of the Filox-R Filters? There are several options, 9”x48”, 10x54, 12x52 and 13x54” ANSWER: Size of existing filters are 13”x65”
3. What are the existing performance specs on the Filox-R Filters?
ANSWER: Current Filox-R is filter #1365.
4. What is the micron size of the existing filters for the HARMSCO WB 170SC-2 filters?
ANSWER: 20 micron
5. Are we to replace only the well cap, not the well cap housing as well? Can you provide the previous model number for the well cap or sizing information?
ANSWER: Per section 3.3, only the well cap is to be replaced along with the seals. The housing is to be painted. Diameter of the well cap is 12 ¾ inches. No model number was noted anywhere on the well housing or existing cap.
6. What are the allowable working hours and days for this project?
ANSWER: Working hours are identified in section 7.3.1. They are 0700 to 1600, Monday through Friday.
7. Is there a specific paint system and/or color for the well cap housing?
ANSWER: No specific color for the well housing. Paint system should be appropriate industry standard for meeting conditions of the project (high humidity, extreme temperature changes, etc.).
8. Is there an existing water meter for the chlorine pump system?
ANSWER: Part of the STS Tank System included a metering pump. The chlorine pump is plugged (120v) into a regulating device with a dial. A low voltage wire runs from the regulating device over to the water meter. It looks like the low voltage wire that goes to the meter is an add on to the meter, as it is attached externally to the dial face.
9. What is your peak flow rate in GPM?
ANSWER: As noted in the PWS, peak flows from the pump shall be capable of 28 GPM.
10. What % bleach are you planning to use (12.5%, 7.5%, 5.25 %, other). Do you plant to dilute the bleach? If yes, how do you typically dilute in gallons of bleach to gallons of water?
ANSWER: We are using a pellet chlorine tablet and diluting it with water until we achieve 2.0 PPM at the tap.
11. What is the psi in the pipe at the point of injection?
ANSWER: Unable to verify PSI at Pipe at the point of injection. Chlorine pump in synced to run during time of well operation.
W912DW24Q0030
12. What is your target chlorine residual in ppm?
ANSWER: 2.0 PPM at the tap
13. Do you have any iron, hydrogen sulfide, manganese, or bacteria that you are treating? Do you know the raw levels?
ANSWER: Attached Spectra Laboratories Report is provided for information only. Report shows the analytes detected during water test in 2011. See Attachment 1 to this solicitation amendment.
14. Could you please confirm the well is 16" diameter on this project?
ANSWER: Diameter of the well cap is 12 ¾ inches.
15. Could you also let us know what size filox filters they're requesting? We just need the height and diameter.
ANSWER: Current Filox filters are 13”X65”. Government is not specifying that the replacement be Filox, just that they meet the performance of the current Filox filters.
