SECTION SF 30 BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION SF 1449 - CONTINUATION SHEET

The following have been added by full text:

QUESTIONS FROM OFFERORS

1.) Will USACE unload and load contractor equipment with their forklift or will the contractor need to be a forklift?

A. Within reason, USACE will help unload equipment. Forklift capacity is 12,000 lbs.

2.) What is the total oil capacity of the hydraulic system including the lines?

A. Tank size is 250 gallons. Lines are 1 inch in diameter (approximately 340 ft in length from tank to manifold).

3.). Please provide a list of filters to be replaced in 3.1.5 (Manufacturer, Model & Size, Quantity).

A. There are no filters in the redundant system.

4.) Will the old gas powered engine be retained by USACE or disposed of by the contractor?

A. Dispose by contractor

5.) What is the tube diameter of the 12 300 foot hydraulic lines?

A. Tube diameter is 1 inch.

6.) Please provide the quantity, amperage and distance of 480 volt electrical tie-ins at the top and bottom of the flush circuit.

A. 1 tie location approximately 20 ft from manifold. Cannot confirm voltage or amperage at this time.

Another tie in mechanical room approximately 75 ft from manifold. Voltage and amperage cannot be confirmed at this time.

7.) Are there special considerations for truck delivery of equipment at the bottom level? If so, what are they?

A. Yes. All wheel drive required. Grades are above 20%.

8.) If the bottom end of the flush circuit is at the 953’ level, what is the elevation of the side entry door where the generator and/or flush skids will be staged?

A. Elevation 976’

9.) If a contractor must demobilize due to rising water, how much warning will they receive and will equipment need to be broken down and moved or will flush operations just be temporarily suspended?

A. 12 hour notice will be given for water tight doors to be secured. If equipment is stored outside then equipment must be broken down and moved. If equipment is stored inside the tower, flush operations can continue.

10.) If the facility has inadequate 480V power, where can the contractor place a diesel generator and what length of cable is required to reach the flush circuit?

A. Generator placed at entrance to the Intake Tower Pedestrian Bridge. Would require approximately 300ft of cable – No high pool evacuation needed at this elevation. Generator placed at 976’ elevation would require approximately 75ft of cable – Evacuation could be needed at this elevation if flood conditions occur.

W912DW18Q0095

11.) Working 8, 10, or 12 hours per day is inefficient and more expensive during the flush so will the contractor be allowed to work 24 hours per day, 7 days per week during the flush?

A. Possibility exists to work extended hours based on submitted contractors schedule/plan. Must get approved by OPM.
