SUMMARY OF CHANGES
SECTION 00 10 00 - SOLICITATION
The following have been added by full text:
AMENDMENT 0003
TO BIDDERS:
The following changes shall be made to the drawings.
DRAWINGS:
The following photos have been added: Q3.4 CR-EDP, Q3.3 SWGR BB, Q3.2 SWGR BA, and Q2 MCC 11-68.
The following drawings have been revised, but not reissued:
1. Drawing Sheet MD161 - An additional general note shall be added as follows: Removal of existing fume hoods: Six existing fume hoods are to be removed as shown on. Fume hoods are should be assumed to have AMC soapstone in the work surface and transite panels in the body of the hood. Fume hoods should be disposed of properly in accordance with the ACM removal specifications.
2. Drawing Sheet ED-113 - An additional general note shall be added as follows: Fluid cooler #1 is fed from panel 13-233/5 which is to the left of the door at the top of the stairs in the elevator penthouse. Fluid cooler #2 is correct. Contractor will ensure that all conduits, supports, cables, etc. will be removed to the panels, the breakers will be labeled as spare, and the wall penetrations will be filled in to match existing.
3. Drawing Sheet EY161: Update to general note 3.2: The final wiring connections to security cameras/devices are to be terminated by Security Contractor (Condor Tech) or VA approved contractor (Contractor installs cable and Security Contractor terminates).
BIDDER’S QUESTIONS AND GOVERNMENT REPLY:
(Questions that may be of general interest to all Bidders and/or the Government and that are not readily answered by the proceeding changes will appear below. These questions may have been paraphrased or altered to represent several questions regarding the same subject and/or simply revised to clarify and simplify the question(s). Questions and answers are issued to the Bidders “for information only” and do not revise the solicitation, plans or specifications.)
BIDDER’S QUESTION GOVERNMENT RESPONSE
1. Please clarify what the intent of the statement
“camera wiring are to be treated by condor tech or VA approved contractor” is in general note
3.2 on drawing EY161.
Drawing Sheet number EY16, General note 3.2 should be revised to the following: The final wiring connections to security cameras/devices are to be terminated by Security Contractor (Condor Tech) or VA approved contractor. (Contractor installs cable and Security Contractor terminates)
2. Is there a possibility of getting access to the MCC 11-68 that we are removing and replacing some of the buckets in? The vendor that is pricing the new MCC buckets is asking for photos and measurements of the MCC so he can properly price the new buckets.
Photographs for the replacement of the MCC buckets included are: MCC 11-68-1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
3. Please provide nameplate/label information for existing panels CR EDP, Switchgear BB, Switchgear BA & MCC 11-68. These panels require new breakers to be installed and this information will be needed to have the breakers quoted correctly.
Information available on Switchgear BB & BA and MCC 11-68. Photographs included.
MCC 11-68-1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (see above).
1. MCC 11-68-1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (see above)
2. SWITCHGEAR BA-1 and 2
3. SWITCHGEAR BB-1 and 2
4. CR-EDP-1, 2, 3 and 4
Note that the CR-EDP panel in sub-basement room S-22 is on the back wall next to the far column enclosure. Not as shown on the drawing.
4. Drawing EP401 shows 4 new connections for heat trace to AHU-3 and 4 new connection for heat trace for AHU-4. What contractor is responsible for providing and installing the actual heat trace equipment as none is shown on the electrical drawings? I also looked at the mechanical drawings, and it doesn’t appear to be mentioned on those drawings at all. If the EC is responsible, we would need to know the approximate layout and specification.
For questions referring to Drawing EP401 that shows 4 new connections for heat trace to AHU-3 and 4 new connection for heat trace for AHU-4. Refer to mechanical drawing MP402.02 for information on piping required to be heat traced. MC is to provide heat trace for piping freeze protection (EC to provide breakers and final termination) to include but not limited to GF-EPD 20A, 120V breakers in panelboard “208V”, roof disconnect, connection kit/per piping run, ambient freeze protection thermostat, self-regulating heat trace cable minimum 5W/ft, end terminator.
1. AHU-3 are circuit 9 & 11, approx. 210’
2. AHU-4 are circuits 5 & 7, approx. 200’
3. Contractor to confirm final lengths.
5. I’m looking to find out if ownership is pursuing a new nurse call system for the 6B renovation or if they’re expanding off an existing infrastructure within the hospital. I don’t see a specific nurse call manufacturer listed on the spec or the drawings so just wanted to be sure what direction they’re heading before I put together bid documents for the project. We’d certainly love to be considered for the renovation if a new call system is being pursued.
New nurse call devices will be connected to the existing 8th Floor Hill-Rom Navicare system located in the 8th Floor Core. New Nurse Call Zone Phones will be added in B wing as directed by VA.
6. Would an extension of the bid date, currently 09/12 at 2pm, be granted? One would like to ensure all due time and attention is given to obtain the best possible price for the VA. Thank you for your consideration.
The bid due date remains 12 September 2019, at
2:00PM EST.
