REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Wet Well Repair RFI

1. Please confirm that a bid/payment/performance bond is not required for this project.

a. Answer: Bid/payment/performance bonds not required for this project.

2. The solicitation states the timeframe for completing the job is 60 calendar days. The statement of work says 90 calendar days. Can you please advise which one we should base our bid on.

a. Answer: Work shall commence no later than 30 days after the issuance of the notice to proceed and be completed within 90 days of notice to proceed.

3. There are existing steel cages around each ladder which need to be removed in order to build access to perform the repairs. Does the owner want the contractor to remove and reinstall the steel cages or remove and dispose of the cages at each work location.

a. Answer: Steel cages that must be removed can be scrapped and disposed. Disposal of cages, concrete, and other construction materials off site will be the responsibility of the contractor.

4. Could you please tell me if the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation posted as solicitation number

W912DR20Q0076 will be a follow-on requirement to any work performed currently or in the past, or will this be a new requirement?

a. Answer: This project is a new requirement.

5. If possible, can you please provide the most recent contract or task order number?

a. Answer: See Answer to Question 4.

6. Do you foresee requiring any diving services, or will the wet well be dry? I may turn this over to my saw cutting division.

a. Answer: The work may only be performed in conditions where the wet well is not inundated with water, i.e. the gates are open and water is not being impounded. Diving will not be required or allowed.

7. I wanted to write wondering if you have ever considered sealing the new repair with a structural polyurethane coating. The material is called SprayWall and it is manufactured by Spray Roq. Our typical jobs include manholes, culverts, wells, and pipes for stormwater, drinking water, and sanitary water. I have attached a few documents to help you get a feel of Spray Wall if you have any interest. At the end of the day, you would be sealing any exposed concrete in that well. The product is only 30 years old, so we don’t have data going back any further that can speak for its life span. But if you asked around, you would be hard pressed to find a failure so far.

a. Answer: At this time the government does not intend to modify the specifications to add polyurethane coating. Vendors may make value based suggestions at any time for consideration.
