QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS(Q AND A)

1. Can a map of the areas to be treated be provided?

A – Yes, aerial views of projects are attached. Individual areas of work will be identified in the field. Generally, the burrows will be found in grassy, sloped areas of the levees and dam.

2. What is the total size of each area to be treated?

A – Unfortunately, the size of each burrow varies widely and is difficult to ascertain until filling operations commence.

3. Is there vehicle access to the sites? If so how close to burrows can the vehicle be driven?

A – Yes, vehicles may be driven on certain areas of the levees and dams. The distance from access to burrows may vary from a few feet to 150 feet depending on burrow location.

4. Are there size limitations on the vehicles? What are they?

A – There are no established size limits; however, vehicles must not cause significant damage to the levee including rutting. This depends on weather conditions, but typically a pickup or small dump bed truck (~5 tons) is acceptable.

5. Has this project been awarded in the past if so what is the contract number?

W912DR-17-T-0070

A – These services have been provided for the past 5 years by multiple Contractors under a Blanket Purchase Agreements. We are considering the work contemplated by the current solicitation to be a new requirement.

1. What is the name of the current contractor for this contract?

A – This service has been provided through Blanket Purchase Agreements with multiple contractors for the past 5 years. We are considering the work contemplated by the current solicitation to be a new requirement.

2. What is the current total annual awarded contract price for this contract?

A – This service has been provided through Blanket Purchase Agreements with multiple contractors for the past 5 years. The Whitney Point location was not included. We are considering the work contemplated by the current solicitation to be a new requirement.

3. What is the anticipated award date for this contract?

A – Award on or about March 24th, 2017.

4. What is the anticipated start date for this contract?

A – First call anticipated on or about April 8th, 2017.

5. Has funds been appropriated for this opportunity to include option years?

A – Funds for this action are requested annually as part of the normal Civil Works Operations and Maintenance budget. Funding is available for FY17 only. Exercise of up to 4 Option years is available based on Contractor performance and availability of funds.

1. Does the base quantities for each mean that there is that amount of holes currently to be filled already at each location?

A - The base quantities for burrows are our anticipated annual minimums. Basically, we have to fill at least this number of burrows every year. Whether they currently exist depends on how many were created after last year's elimination.
