The legend on C-100 shows “asphaltic concrete” with a symbol (by definition this is asphalt). Civil drawings show “Proposed Concrete sidewalks” using the asphaltic concrete symbol. Question: Do you want concrete or asphalt?

Sidewalks should be concrete per detail on C-510.

8 John C. Grimberg Co. John Meckley JCG Staff

What drawing has the detail for “asphaltic concrete”?

Sidewalks should be concrete per detail on C-510.

Trench Asphalt detail on C-521 states to remove and replace in kind. What is the depth and kind of existing asphalt so we can price?

The existing pavement crossection is unknown at this time. Contractor to assume a 6" depth of asphalt at this time.

Please verify that gravel (per legend symbol) will be used at the mechanical yard, generator area, and exterior stairwells as shown on civil drawings.

Yes, gravel will be used at the mechanical yard, generator area, and exterior stairwells. See note 5 on C-130 indicating Generator Yard gravel to be of bank run type.

11 John C. Grimberg Co. John Meckley JCG Staff

What drawing has the detail for the “gravel” symbol? We need to know the depth and if geo fabric will be used under the gravel, as well as what kind of gravel will to be used?

Use 6" of gravel. No geo fabric is required. Use Crushed Aggregates as specified in 31 23 23-6.

The proposed 10-way ductbank to be installed runs through several existing sidewalks that are not shown to be demolished. The demolition civil drawing is incomplete as these sidewalks will be missed by the civil contractors.

Contractor will be required to demo and replace any sidewalks within the path of the ductbanks.
