QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Endicott‐Johnson and Vestal Well Replacement Projects:

Questions and Answers for information only.

Solicitation: W912DR‐13‐T‐0040

1. We are working on your inquiry for the 8‐inch well screen and related material. In order to provide you with the proper quote I will need to know the anticipated depth setting of the screen. Please provide the range of well depths or a “typical” well completion diagram for the project so the proper rod and wire configuration can used to construct the screen.

A. Typical well depth will be 40 feet.

2. Per the solicitation, included clause 52.212‐2 EVALUATION‐‐COMMERCIAL

ITEMS (JAN 1999) states the award evaluation will be based upon price and technical. We cannot locate the specific technical data requested by USACE for submission. Can the USACE be more specific in relation to the technical data requested for submission with our proposal?

A. The technical is the materials specified in the SOW. No other technical data or specs are available.

3. How deep will the screens be set into the wells?

A. See answer for question one (1).

4. Page 5 of 40 of the Solicitation states at the bottom of the page for the materials to be delivered to Edgewood, MD whereas above the price schedule it states "Please provide prices for the following quantities of materials delivered to a staging area in Vestal, NY". Can the true delivery address be clarified?

A. The correct delivery address is:

USACE Field Exploration Unit Warehouse Buildings #5896 and #5894 Greenhouse Avenue Edgewood Area‐Aberdeen Proving Grounds Edgewood, Md. 21010

As listed in the solicitation.

5. The items I do not have sufficient information are:

#0005 ‐ 20" x 24" protective cover‐ is there a drawing for this item?

I would like to know how many slots are desired and additional info regarding the hold‐down tabs.

A. Protective guards should be 24" length by 20" diameter, 304‐stainless steel, 250‐slot, with a 21‐inch diameter by 1/4" thick 304‐stainless steel bolt‐down plate cover. Bolt specifications: Each guard contains four 3/8” coarse‐threaded (NC) bolts and four inner hold‐down tabs with ½”‐ diameter holes.

Essentially this is a section of wire‐wrap well screen with tabs welded on the top and bottom so the screen can be bolted down from the inside to a concrete pad and then a plate can be bolted to the top.

6. #0008 ‐ 16" x 5 ft protective cover; is this stainless steel or mild carbon steel?

A. Mild carbon steel.

7. #0012 ‐ Fernco rubber caps ‐ The item is too generic to locate. Is there a part number for these? Will they accept PVC slip on caps as an alternate?

A. PVC slip caps will not be accepted, an example of the type of product required is the “QC108 Fernco Rubber Cap for 8 inch PVC pipe”. It should be noted that this brand and model is not specifically required.
