About this file
This document contains answers to contractor questions regarding a federal solicitation for rock required at two locations. The solicitation seeks bids to provide between 800-1000 tons of rock per day for construction projects at the Dalbey and Worthwine locations. The start dates are estimated to be July or early August for Dalbey and early August to September for Worthwine. The same quarry may provide rock for both locations, requiring only one gradation test, otherwise a separate test is required for each quarry. The contract will be awarded as a single award for both locations. Bidders must provide pricing to service both locations to be considered. Access and stockpiling logistics vary by location as described.

Contractor Questions with answers: 28 June 2023
Dalbey Location
The GPS location is in the middle of a field which is wet and likely not accessible without building a road that is costly. Who is paying to build the road?
The access will be provided by the Government.
Who is responsible for piling the rock?
The Government will stock pile the rock delivered at first, then trucks will back down and dump on the structure being constructed.
What is the start date?
July or early August
How many tons/day?
Will be determined by field conditions but should be between 800-1000 tons per day
Are Gradation tests required?
Gradation tests will be required. If the same quarry provides rock to both locations then only 1 test will be required otherwise a test will need to be performed at each quarry.
Worthwine Location
You direct us to a parking lot but cannot stockpile the rock but the GPS location directs us to the middle of a field.
Rock will be delivered to structure which is about 75 yards from the parking lot unless weather conditions prohibit it. Trucks will back down and dump on the structure being constructed.
What are we supposed to do with this rock without a stockpile area?
See above for the “No Stock pile area” question
Are the trucks going to have to wait to unload and if so how long?
Depends on the staging and the continued staging of the trucks as the day progresses. If the trucks arrive in groups like they usually do then wait time will increase, if the trucks are staged every few minutes apart, and they remain that way, then waiting time should minimal.
How many tons/day do you want?
Will be determined by weather conditions but should be between 800-1000 tons per day
When do you want to start?
Early August to September
Are Gradation tests required?
Gradation tests will be required. If the same quarry provides rock to both locations then only 1 test will be required otherwise a test will need to be performed at each quarry.
General Questions
Will both jobs be done at the same time or at different times?
Timeline is above
Can one location be bid or does each bidder have to bid both? It is a complete contract in order to be considered both locations need to be bid.
Will you award one contract for both locations or contracts separately for each location?
Only one contract will be awarded.
