The bank paving detail requires a minimum section thickness of 3'. There will be a significant number of stones between 30 and 36" in diameter. Is it the intent that in some areas the protection will only be 1 stone thick? Also the size of stone doesn't really make a 3 foot section practical to construct.

On: May 11 2023.

Government Response. . Plan sheet CS501 shows bank paving detail with 3' minimum thickness on the upper slope and 5' thickness for toe. Specification 35 31 24.00 23 shows gradation curves for stone for bank paving which shows the minimum and maximum percentage of stones larger than 36". It is expected that at some locations the upper slope may be one stone thick or exceed the minimum 3' thickness. On: May 12 2023
