Solicitation Amendment Q&A 1

1. Do you require hourly rates only? Can we quote on daily (up to 8 hours), weekly and monthly rates instead?

We request that you put down whatever rates you have. If you have a limit (8 hours min), please include that information into your price list.

2. Can you share some kind of details or narrow down the type of equipment you usually utilize?

In the performance work statement, it lists types of jobs that we normally require equipment rentals. If you have equipment that would qualify for those types of jobs, that is what we are looking for.

3. Our company can offer additional equipment than what is outlined in the Performance Work Statement. Would it be OK to add these units?

Yes, please add any equipment that you may have, if available.

4. In the Pricing List Table 1., it has a column for “Price Per Hour”. The rental equipment industry generally works from a day (8hrs) / week (40hrs) / month (160hrs) rental period. Note:

The longer the equipment is on rent the better cost per hour. Can I create a modified equipment Pricing List for you using these periods of performance?

Yes, same as Question 1.

5. Can the Crane rental be a bare rental (meaning only offer Crane without operator)?

We request that if you rent out cranes, an operator and spotter are also available. We have too few requirements that will not require an operator and spotter.

6. I was wondering if you had specific models in mind; for example, a Cat D5 dozer and a Cat D8T dozer have a monthly price difference of $10,000 Rental.

Any model is fine. When we send out a requirement, and as long as your equipment can meet those requirements, you quote will be considered responsive.

7. Do you know the approximate area?

Our Master BPAs are built to support the whole Kansas City District which includes: Missouri, Kansas, South Iowa, and South Nebraska. When we send out a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a BPA Call, it will detail where the requirement is located. If you believe that the location is too far from you, or you cannot meet that requirement, you are not required to submit a quote. We recommend that if you can meet the requirement, even if the location is far, submit a quote to see if you are within the competitive range of others.

8. Do you anticipate that a majority of your rentals other than crane services will be without operator?

In most cases, crane rentals are usually the only requirements that include operators and spotters.

We have had instances in the past where operators are required for other equipment rentals when we do not have enough Government personnel to support the requirement. If you have the capabilities to support operators on other equipment rentals, please include that in your price list.
