W912DQ20R1039 Playground Equipment Pomme de Terre Lake

Questions and Answers:

1. Will this be a GSA purchase?

- It is a contract solicitation. Government pricing is required with tax exemption.

2. Are there site plan drawings available?

- No, A visit to the site is recommended for accurate information.

3. Is there a specification document, especially for the required containment barriers?

- No, A visit to the site is recommended for accurate information..

4. Will we be doing the site prep? Excavation, disposing of soil, leveling, etc.

- The government will remove the existing equipment, pea gravel and containment timbers prior to contract start date and provide will provide a level site as stated under #8. In the solicitation.

5. What sort of surfacing are you looking for? I saw the bid said Poured in Place Rubber but I wanted to make sure you wanted this for the 3 parks.

– Since the solicitation asked for a containment barrier, this is what the government would like quoted. It provides a cleaner transition from designated playground space to mowed grass.

6. Post size, do all 3 have to be 5 inch OD posts or can we use 3.5 OD for the two playgrounds that do not call out a roller slide. (roller slides require a 5” OD post.)

– The solicitation does not state the size of post the vendor can quote, so that is determined by the vendor. Not all 3 playgrounds have to be the same in design.

7. Surfacing, do you have to install rubber surface for the whole area or just the required fall zone?

- Poured rubber-type surface is just required in the required fall zone area of the system.

8. On the attached it is calling out for “Covered Components”…………. Is it desired to have events that are covered by a shade on the structure or a roof?

- A covered component could encompass many different components to include, but not limited to: a roof, canopy structure, etc.

9. Do you want swings at any of these playgrounds? In the bid documents, it does not call for any swings.

-The minimum requirements are listed in section 5 of the solicitation. Feel free to add anything else to the configuration.

10. We require our customers to sue a concrete base under Poured In Place. Is that the case here or are you allowing contractors to use gravel/aggregate under the rubber safety surfacing?

-Rock base is ok with us, but concrete is acceptable because the solicitation does not state either one as required. The solicitation also states that the "Contractor shall provide and install the required base surface for surface material." So the government will only provide the level site as stated in #8 of the solicitation.
