STATEMENT OF WORK

DES-FD705-7J

Repair Vehicle Exhaust Ventilation System Bldg. 4390 Fire Station #2

31 Aug 2018

1. GENERAL: The project is to remove existing fire apparatus vehicle exhaust filtration system and provide a fire apparatus vehicle exhaust removal system (FAVERS). This will eliminate the occurrence of air contaminants to all areas of the building caused by operation of the fire apparatus vehicles inside apparatus bay in lieu of ‘filtering’ the contaminates. Since the standard operating procedure for vehicle start-up is to open the bay doors before operating the vehicles, this work will not have any impact to the existing HVAC system.

2. GENERAL PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:

2.1 Applicable codes:

UFC 1-200-01, DoD Building Code (General Building Requirements) UFC 3-520-01, Interior Electrical Systems UFC 4-730-10, Fire Stations NFPA 1500, Standard of Fire Department Occupational Safety, Health, and

Wellness Program ACGIH Industrial Ventilation, Manual of Recommended Practices ANSI A13.1, Scheme for the Identification of Piping System.

2.2 The Period of Performance (POP) is 270 days after issuance of NTP. The NTP will be issued 10 days after the date the contract is awarded. The POP includes material procurement and equipment delivery times.

2.3 Building may require lead-based paint (LBP), mold, and asbestos abatement to accomplish required work. No locations have been determined to have asbestos or LBP, but there is a potential for encountering both in remote locations within the facility.

2.3.1 This statement of objectives specifically requires asbestos abatement by a certified worker should there be this hazardous material in the existing construction materials. Test and confirm nature and extent of this hazardous material before commencing demolition.

Abate all affected areas and properly dispose.

2.3.2 This statement of objectives specifically requires mold abatement by a certified worker should there be this hazardous material in the existing construction materials. Test and confirm nature and extent of this hazardous material before commencing demolition.

Abate all affected areas.

2.3.3 This statement of objectives specifically requires lead-based paint abatement by a certified worker should there be this hazardous material in the existing construction materials. Abate all lead-based paint associated with demolition; encapsulate all other lead-based paint. Testing for LBP shall be performed prior to demolition. Material exceeding EPA requirements shall be separated from demolition wasted and properly dispose.

2.4 Anything mentioned in the statement of objectives and not shown on the drawings, or shown on the drawings and not mentioned in the statement of objectives, shall be of like effect as if shown or mentioned in both.

2.5 Any direction offered by the customer that conflicts with this statement of work shall not be carried out without proper direction from the government Contracting Officer.

2.6 See attachments for additional information and details. Provided drawings are for reference only and shall not be used as the primary construction set of plans. When a shared neutral conductor must be used for three-phase, four-wire systems, size the neural conductor to have an ampacity equal to 1.73 times the ampacity of the phase conductors for non-linear circuits. Limit no more than three single phase circuits in one raceway. When more conductors are required, provide detailed calculations showing compliance with NFPA 70 for derating conductors and conduit fill. Minimum size of power conductors shall be #12 AWG. Provide an insulated green equipment grounding conductor in conduit.

4.3 Additional power requirements-Provide all required power panels, feeders, starters, disconnect switches, controllers, all other power/control equipment and materials for all mechanical/electrical equipment furnished by other sections of the RFP.

4.4 Electrical Penetrations of walls and roof-Any penetrations of the building vapor barrier system shall be appropriately sealed and insulated to retain integrity of the barrier system including, but not limited to conduits and backs of electrical boxes. All power, auxiliary, control, lighting and other circuits shall not penetrate any stair or exit passageway unless this circuit serves an appliance within the stair or passageway and dead ends in the stair or passageway per NFPA 101. Electrical equipment shall not be supported from the building metal deck.
