124-14068-4J Replace Floors in Laundry Rooms, Bldg. 3208
Scope of work
There are six laundry rooms in this building, one on each floor on the west (three total) and one on each floor on the east (three total). The sheet vinyl in these rooms is failing. In one instance the damage is evidently from moving appliances. For the most part the vinyl appears to have shrunk causing it to fail at weak points.
The contractor will provide all labor, equipment and materials to replace the sheet vinyl in all six laundry rooms in this building. This is a new requirement. Drawings of the first floor east and west wings will be included in the job packet. The second and third floor laundry locations are the same as the first. The following tasks fully describe the work to be performed;
1. Demo and dispose of the existing sheet coved vinyl in all six laundry rooms.
a. As this facility was constructed in 2006 Asbestos is not a concern.
b. The existing cove is on gyp board, care is to be taken not to damage it.
2. Prep the floors and base of the walls for new sheet vinyl.
a. The floors to be prepped are concrete.
b. Moisture is not an issue, testing is not required.
3. Install commercial sheet vinyl in the laundry rooms per manufacturer’s specifications.
The adhesive is to be that recommended by the flooring manufacturer. It is to be
Mannington Assurance II or equal. The color is similar to what is in the laundry rooms now. The final color selection will be made at the pre-con.
a. The Vinyl seams are to be heat welded.
b. Cove the edges to the same height as existing.
The occupants will move the appliances out of the rooms before start of work move them back in when the contractor feels the new installation is ready. The installations will be sequenced so that there will be washers and dryers available at all times. The work can be accomplished during normal business hours or otherwise if approved by SFC Moore.
The point of contact to coordinate access to the building is SFC Moore. He may be reached at 907-353-2494 or 910-987-9049. He is also to be invited to the precon to coordinate access and discuss and resolve any issues he may have regarding this project.
