SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION C - DESCRIPTIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS

The following have been added by full text:

ROBERT S. KERR POWERHOUSE STATION SERVICE TRANSFORMER REPLACEMENT COILS

KEOTA, OKLAHOMA

Description\Specification\Work Statement

Revised 2 March 2011

1. General Requirements. These specifications include the disassembly of the transformer, cleaning, inspection of the existing core, design, fabrication, assembly, testing and delivery of a copper conductor, vacuum pressure impregnated replacement coils installed on the existing core and reusing the existing enclosure of a 1000 kVA dry type transformer. Name plate data and dimensional information can be found in the attached reference outline drawing. The rewound transformer core and coils shall comply with applicable requirements of IEEE C57.12.01, C57.12.91, C2, NFPA 70 and NEMA publications TR1 and ST-20. The manufacture shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the successful design, fabrication and assembly of transformers of this type and rating.

2. Type and Rating.

2.1 Core. The existing core shall be disassembled in a manner that does not damage it and allows it to be reused. When the core is disassembled it shall be inspected and recommendations as to its serviceability shall be made before the rewinding proceeds. The core frame will be bolted to the overall transformer frame at the original anchoring points.

2.2 Coils. The new coils shall be copper conductors sized no smaller than conductors being replaced. Full capacity voltage taps shall match the existing coil. Both high voltage and low voltage leads shall match the existing connections, readily allowing reconnection of the winding to the existing buses. Coils shall be vacuum pressure impregnated (VPI) with an insulation system rated 220 degrees C.

2.3 Rating. Transformer core and coil rating shall match the ratings of the existing transformer. These rating are detailed on the transformer nameplate detail of the transformer outline drawing. This drawing is part of the reference drawings for this specification. Audible sound levels shall not exceed 64 dB.

2.4 Enclosure. The transformer shall be shipped to the factory in its existing enclosure which shall be reused to house the rewound transformer.

3. Accessories. Supply and install in the existing transformer enclosure a new temperature indicating system. This temperature indicator shall be equipped with a minimum of two normally open, self-resetting contacts designed for use in 125 volt DC ungrounded circuits. The contacts will be utilized for alarm and trip and the setting at which the contacts close shall be adjustable. The temperature indicator shall also be equipped with a

W912BV-11-T-0031

manual resetting pointer indicating maximum temperature obtained. The probe for the temperature indicator shall be installed in the anticipated hot spot of the transformer.

4. Nameplate. A metal nameplate shall be provided which conforms to IEEE C57.12.01. The nameplate shall have etched, engraved, or stamped information to include voltages, KVA ratings, Temperature rise, schematic diagram, class/type, impedance, etc. as required by the IEEE standard. This nameplate will mounted adjacent to existing nameplate.

5. Factory Testing. The transformer core and coils shall be given the Manufacturer’s routine factory tests and also other tests specified below, to insure successful operation of all parts and assemblies. Routine tests listed in section 8.3 of IEEE C57.12.01 shall be performed on the transformer. In addition to the routine tests power factor tests shall be performed. All test reports must be submitted for approval and approved before the transformer is shipped.

6. Shipment. The transformer shall be shipped as completely assembled and wired as feasible so as to require a minimum of installation work at the RS Kerr Powerhouse. Any instrument or device which cannot withstand the hazards of shipment when mounted in place shall be carefully packed and shipped separately with the container clearly marked with the contract number. All finished painted surfaces and metal work shall be wrapped or otherwise protected to prevent damage during shipment. The transformer core and coil shall have suitable lifting points that will allow it to be lifted with an overhead crane and suitable frame that will allow it to be moved with rollers. Delivery at the Robert S. Kerr Powerhouse shall only be between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday thru Thursday excluding Federal Government Holidays. Delivery shall be coordinated with the Contracting Officer. Notification of shipment will be made a minimum of 7 days before shipment. Contractor shall be responsible for all shipment costs.

7. Operation and Maintenance. The Contractor shall provide for approval to the Contracting Officer three (3) copies of operation and maintenance data.

This shall include as a minimum manufacturer’s standard data, information on operating restrictions, information on auxiliary equipment, test report and data, and assembly drawings with equipment weights. The information shall be furnished in three ring binders with Contractor’s name and contract number clearly printed on the cover prior to final acceptance of the equipment.

8. Loss Requirements. The rewound coils shall be designed so as not to increase the no load and full load losses to greater than 16,500 Watts.

9. Performance Period. Performance period is 12 weeks from receipt of order.
