SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION SF 1449 - CONTINUATION SHEET

TP 2.09 is changed to the following:

AMENDMENT THREE(3)

CLIN 0011 TP 2.09 Propeller Shafts

When directed by the COR, the contractor shall remove and replace the port and/or starboard propeller shafts with Government furnished spares. Any removed shafts are the property of the Government. Following shaft removal and prior to reinstallation, the Contractor shall furnish a condition found report to the COR to document the condition of the existing shafting. The report shall also document any input and directed repair action by USCG and ABS and shall be signed by the Contractor, USCG, and ABS representatives.

During reinstallation, the Contractor shall hone and blue-fit test the propellers to the shafts to produce a minimum of 80% contact between the propeller inner bore and the propeller shaft. Shafts are 25'L x 5-1/2"D plus sleeve diameters of 6-1/2”. The Contractor shall remove the rudders and propellers prior to removing the shafts.

Reinstallation of existing propellers shall be subject to the same requirements and shall be paid for under TP2.08 “Propellers”, above, as if new propellers had been directed installed. Bidders shall quote a unit price per shaft replaced under this item. For bid comparison purposes it will be assumed that two (2) propeller shafts will be replaced. If directed by the COR, the Contractor shall provide alignment services under TP 2.19 during the reinstallation of the propeller shafts. All alignment services performed under TP 2.19 shall be paid for only under

TP 2.19.

Additionally, the Contractor shall furnish a condition found report to the COR to document the condition of two (2) spare propeller shafts which will be delivered to the shipyard by the GELBERMAN. The report shall also document any input and directed repair action by USCG and ABS and shall be signed by the Contractor, USCG, and ABS representatives.

Repair and/or reconditioning of the existing or spare propeller shafts is not required by TP 2.09 and will be separately addressed under a formal contract modification.
